Javelin has an exciting opportunity for an Account Associate to join its Old Town, Alexandria office. It is seeking an ambitious and creative individual with a drive for communications and desire to interact daily with reporters, editors producers, and bookers in national media.
Responsibilities
- Serving as a resident expert on client, competitive environment, and related subjects
- Maintaining regular client contact, both verbal and written, across a range of accounts
- Actively pursuing media to secure press results
- Networking and building relationships with key members of national media
- Developing story angles
- Overseeing the development of tactics and the implementation of account strategy
- Managing integrated campaigns, social media, and influencer work
Needs
- BA or BS in communications or a related field
- 1+ years of public relations, marketing, or related experience
- Works well under pressure
- Works independently

Wants
- Experience building media lists and familiarity with Cision
- Experience crafting statements, press releases, and pitches for events and breaking news
